Doc Ellis was a hell of a guy. He dressed to the nines, always had a big beautiful car to drive, and his girlfriends were all beauty queens.
You may already know about his famous LSD no-hitter. But you might not know that this was not the only time Dock pitched on acid. The 1970 no-no made him believe that LSD improved his pitching. This proved wrong, culminating in a 1974 game in which Ellis, tripping on acid, decided to bean every Cincinatti Red who faced him. He nailed Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, and Dan Dreissen before he was yanked.
